Location scouting & scouting trips
Pre-production recce with full report: GPS, access, sun/light conditions by date, nearest infrastructure, alternates. On-location scouting with director/DOP.
Permits & regulatory
Metsähallitus (national parks & state land), municipal filming permits, private landowner agreements, drone authorisations (Traficom), off-road vehicle permits.
Crew sourcing
Local camera, sound, grip, gaffers. Drivers with snowmobile and 4×4 experience. Safety officers for Arctic conditions. Vetted through direct network.
Kit & vendor management
Cameras, lenses, grip, lighting, snow vehicles, heated tents, winter kit protection. Sourced from established Finnish rental houses and Lapland vendors with transparent mark-ups.
Logistics & accommodation
Flights into Rovaniemi / Kittilä / Ivalo, ground transport, hotels, cabins, catering, per diem structure. Production office space where needed. We hold category B and C driving licences, so when needed we can drive a minibus for up to eight passengers ourselves, or a heavy truck over 3.5 tonnes for equipment. We plan and coordinate the logistics, but we are not a travel agency: bookings are made in the production's name or through its own travel agent, and we don't sell travel packages.

Husky Flow Films Oy is a Finnish production company based in Tampere. You contract a registered company, not an individual freelancer.
Traficom-registered drone operator with the EU A1/A3 remote pilot certificate. Every flight follows EU drone regulation.
Working relationships with Lapland-based crew, vendors and location owners.
Finnish is our native language and our English gets the job done: we understand everything and talk comfortably, although now and then you may hear some classic Finnish rally English. We deal with landowners, authorities and Sámi communities directly in Finnish.

Fees are quoted per project on the basis of scope, crew size and shoot days. Two standard structures:

Common questions.
How far in advance do you need to be booked?
For winter shoots (November–March) ideally 6–8 weeks. Peak aurora season and Christmas week book further out. Summer shoots are more flexible, and 3–4 weeks is usually enough. Urgent news or documentary work: call directly. A note on snow: October and early November can still be snowless. On average there is snow on the ground by then, but it is not guaranteed, so if your story depends on snow, build in flexible dates or a backup plan. Do you own production kit?
Yes. We own professional camera and drone equipment, which we use on producer-DOP work. Finland also has several well-equipped camera, grip and lighting rental houses, so anything a larger production needs beyond that is rented in, and the package matches the shoot exactly.
Can you handle the rebate paperwork?
We can structure spend to maximise qualification for Finland's cash rebate and support your rebate application with documentation. The rebate itself is applied for by the production company through Business Finland, and we can connect you with specialists who manage the full application if needed.
What about Sámi culture and sensitive locations?
We follow the International Sámi Film Institute's Pathfinder guidelines and flag cultural considerations clearly in pre-production. Some stories, locations and imagery require Sámi community involvement from the concept stage, and we will tell you directly if that applies to your brief.
Are you based in Lapland?
No. Husky Flow Films is based in Tampere. We travel to Lapland for projects and work through a network of Lapland-based collaborators.
Can you staff a full shoot, or just fix?
Both. Small editorial or brand shoots we can staff from producer to camera. For larger productions (commercials, broadcast, narrative), we fix and coordinate local crew while you bring your own department heads.
